We have the program for Dark Mofo 2021, just one month out from the event’s kick-off. Tasmania’s dark arts festival is making its return after a 2020 cancellation with seven nights of art, music, and rituals.
They’ve unveiled a hectic music lineup for the event. Brisbane’s danceable Confidence Man are a lineup highlight.
They’ll be performing alongside A. Swayze & The Ghosts and King Stingray on the Saturday, 19th June.
Other Aussies donning the program include Grace Cummings, Chloe Alison Escott, Black Cab, Slag Queens, and The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra — among others.
USA post-punk legend, Thurston Moore appears in the lineup, alongside Wobbly, Om, and Circuit des Yeux.

Dark Mofo has had a tumultuous year and a bit. They were forced to cancel last year’s event in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Then this year, they announced an art project which saw the artist request the blood of First Nations people to ensure the Union Jack is “immersed in the blood of its colonised territories”.
The festival organisers initially doubled down on the controversy saying, “Self-expression is a fundamental human right.”
They later cancelled the project, saying, “We made a mistake.”
